Troy MacDonald doesn't just refresh homes — he understands them. As a former realtor, property investor, and property manager, he brings a depth of experience that most contractors simply don't have.
Troy MacDonald grew up in the foster care system — 17 different homes before he was on his own. No family safety net. No inheritance. No connections. Just a decision, made early, that the circumstances he was born into would not define the life he built.
That decision has shaped everything since.
Troy built a career at WestJet, working his way up through the airline industry. But real estate kept pulling at him. He saw what homeownership meant — stability, equity, a foundation — and he wanted to help people get there. So he made the leap, earned his license, and became a Realtor with Re/Max.
Over the years that followed, Troy was personally involved in the sale of more than 130 Winnipeg homes. He learned what buyers see the moment they walk through a door. He learned which updates actually move the needle on a sale — and which ones are a waste of money. That knowledge is baked into every RenoResQ project today.

Before real estate, Troy built a career at WestJet. The discipline, systems thinking, and customer focus from the airline industry carry through to every RenoResQ project.
When Troy walks through your home, he's not just looking at walls and floors. He's seeing it the way a buyer would see it. He's thinking about what will make the biggest impact for the money — because he's been on every side of the transaction. He's sold homes, bought homes, renovated homes, rented homes, and managed homes for other people.
That's why RenoResQ clients trust Troy with their keys, their alarm codes, and their homes — even when they're out of town. It's not just about the quality of the work. It's about the quality of the person doing it.
